All About Milia.
When Asher was born, I noticed that he has 3 white spots on the left side of his face. It did look like tiny pimples - two just beneath his left eye and the other on his cheek. Later, I learned from the pediatrician that it's called Milia, also known as milk spots or oil seeds that disappear in a few weeks. They are commonly associated with newborn babies but can appear also on people of all ages. They are unrelated to baby acne or also known as acne neonatorum which has recently been described to be caused by a certain type of yeast causing a primary skin infection. They also clear up in a few weeks time but sometimes, it could linger for months.
Back to milia, you may ask, what can I do to help clear them up? The answer..nothing. You don't need to do anything at all because the bumps will go away on their own in a few weeks without treatment. If I recall right, Asher's milia disappeared in three weeks after birth.
