Asher's Weight Gain.
Thanks to this chart from Kelly Mom, I'm now somehow convinced that Asher's slow weight gain is just normal for his age and for an exclusive breastfed baby who's so active despite him having a hearty appetite.
But I would be happier though if he could at least get back to his previous weight before he got sick. I can't helped but be bothered whenever I see and carry his six month old cousin who seems now heavier then he is. Then reading a Girl Talk thread about their baby's weight, doesn't help either and makes me think that my son's underweight (imagine one mom posted that her 4 month old baby weighs 7.5 kilos!). I know the pressure's just on me and I should just focus that as long as my son's eating/nursing just right, healthy, developing and thriving well, then, nothing's to worry about. Even her Pedia isn't concerned about this and even confirms that at his age, it's just normal to have a decreasing weight gain just like kellymom's chart indicates.

naku mai. parehas tyo. may kilala naman ako, 3 months pa lang pero 8 kilos na! mejo nalulungkot din ako sa weight gain ni JB ngayon. ang bagal na. pero siguro nga dahil active. although sabi naman ng pedia na ok pa yun, basta at least 10 kilos daw sha pagka-one year. and sinasabi naman ng mga tao na he looks chubby, still, namimiss ko ung chubbier cheeks. hehe. dati kasi hindi na namin makita ung leeg. ngayon may leeg na.
i relate to you... my son was exclusively breastfed until 1 year old. I gave him milk supplements by 1 but continued with breastfeeding until 22 months. he also was not gaining much weight. but he is really active and doesn't really get sick much... nakakapraning talaga. there are days, i worry... there are days that i know there is nothing to worry about as long as he is healthy and not sick...
