Party Planning In Progress.
Just three months to go and Asher will turn one. With the busy holidays and family affairs ahead, it's just the right time to start planning for his first birthday bash. I don't want to end cramming and panicking come February although I have a tendency to do that. So anyway, here are just some of the things I have done already:
1. Venue - I have checked the availability of our chosen venue here in Makati via phone and so far the party date is still open for booking. We'd also get to save Php 2000 because Makati residents get a special rate. Hooray for that! With that said, I'll be securing our reservation by formally booking and paying the rental fee within the week.
2. Caterer - I have in mind the caterer we're likely to get but I just have to confirm their accreditation with the venue.
3. Photographer - Booking John Aguas in progress. I tried contacting Ging Lorenzo first but unfortunately, she's already booked on the party date. John and Ging are my top 2 choices so either one of them is okay. I'm just appalled with how Ging responded so slowly with my inquiries though. It took her 2 follow up emails from me before she reverted and said that she's no longer available on the party date. Still contemplating whether to get John's video services as well.
4. Guest list - That's right, as early as now, I have started drafting it so we'll know how much budget should we allot (or save for) and to make sure not to miss anyone.
5. Party Theme - It's actually a toss between Elmo (his favorite for his clothes or should I say my favorite for him LOL) or the generic Jungle Safari or Madagascar theme. I have scoured online for party ideas and supplies for both themes and I now have in mind the decors, prizes and giveaway loots.
6. Cake - No other cake artist in mind other than my favorite Emily Uy. She did our wedding cake and Asher's baptismal cake and since she never disappoint us, it just follows that she'll also do Asher's first birthday cake. I'll get in touch with her on a later month since she's easy to talk with naman.
7. Venue Stylist - Of course, I'll be contracting the services of my beloved CWL sister, Jacque of Partyboosters. I'm not getting her for the reason that she's a friend but I truly love her works and I know how she puts her heart in everything she does so I know we're in good artistic hands and mind. *Let's chat soon, sis!
8. Host / Magician / ventrilusionist - Initially contacted Wanlu but his rate is way beyond our budget. I'll talk this over with Jacque for other recommendations.
9. Invitation / Tarpaulin - I'm in charge of this. I'll extract all my creative juices for a wonderful digiscrapped invite layout.
So that's what I have done so far and need to prepare in the months to come. There's still plenty of time so I'm just taking things easily.
