Our Flooded Neighborhood.

The lowest part of our street..lagpas bahay ang baha. Submerged.

These were just some of the depressing scenes I took shots of yesterday here in our neighborhood still in connection with Typhoon Ondoy's wrath. That's how high the flood was in the lower parts of our area. On the first picture which is the downhill part of our street, I'm not sure about the measurement in feet but to give you a picture..it's as high as an electric post. If you view the larger image, you can see that the water has leveled to the the cable and power lines. Frightening. Really. Just imagine how many houses were completely submerged on that part. Our neighbors, in bayanihan spirit, joined hands in helping the others who were stuck in their flooded homes. They had to use ropes and industrial handles to pull them over using an improvised float. On the second picture, look how cars and vehicles were buried deep too into the flood waters. I really hope that as one nation, we can all get through this with much hope and positivity.
