Asher at 19 Months.

Asher is 19 months old today. I may not have been blogging about him recently but he's really developing and maturing so fast. Here are his 19th month notes:

Physical:
1. Occasionally gives up one of his daily naps...either in the morning or afternoon.
2. Sadly, he didn't gain weight this month.
3. Can walk backwards and can turn around over and over
4. Loves to run
5. Can jump (both feet off the ground) on his own
6. Knows how to wash his hands on the stone sinks.

Cognitive and Mental:
1. His vocabulary widened and can now discriminately call/address the following words to the corresponding thing or person: Mama and sometimes Ma-mee (yes..finally!), ti-che (teacher), de-tee (dirty), ish (office and fish), waaa (one), bey-bi (baby)
2. Calls himself bey-bi.
3. Can somehow relay what he wants through words. Example: "Mama, di-di" or when he asks for help "Ma-mee..bey-bi" then points to whatever he wants to get
4. Can more expertly do the sign of the cross. I'll just point to the part then he do it by himself. However, when we're on the "holy spirit" part, he uses his left hand to point his right shoulders instead of the left hand
5. Can do the following finger play songs:
- Twinkle, twinkle little star
- My toes, my nees
- Baa baa black heep
- Fly, fly, fly the butterfly
- If you're happy and you know it (signs happy face, claps and stomps his feet)
6. He says "I love you" back by mumbling "Mmm..mmmm"
7. He loves shooting coins to his piggyback.
8. Loves moving objects from one place to another. Usual target are his clothes in the drawer
9. Can follow simple instructions (particularly when getting an object)

Emotional and Behavioral
1. Loves imitating grown up tasks. Ex. sweeping the floor
2. Is possessive and hates it when I carry or just even touch his cousin
3. Loves running after the pets and make "gigil" of them
4. Enjoys cuddle and tickle time with Mommy
5. Loves dancing and shaking his booty in front of an audience
6. Has become a biting rascal (ouch!)
