Speech Improvement.

Is Your Toddler’s Speech Delayed? - from whattoexpect.com

By 18 months, your toddler should be speaking at least a few words. If he isn’t, ask your doctor if he should be evaluated by a certified speech/language pathologist and/or have his hearing tested. (An exception might be a child living in a bilingual home; these kids tend to talk a bit later, but once they start, they quickly catch up and become fluent in both languages.) Check for signs that his receptive language skills (his ability to understand what’s spoken) are on track. Can he understand a request (e.g., will he nod and hold out his bowl if you ask him if he wants more noodles?) and follow simple commands (“please bring me your shoes”)? If so, expressive language — words he forms himself — is likely right around the corner.
Asher's speech improvement, I believe, is just right on track. He knows about 20 words already coupled with a lot of gibberish talks. However, I'm getting lost with most of the milestone calendars that say, he should be using a number of two word sentences by now. The only two word sentence he can convey by now is just "Mama...baby" whenever he wants to breastfeed or asks for formula milk, or if he's asking for assistance let's say when he wants to get a toy from his toy chest. I'm not really concerned as I know babies develop on their own phase. Besides, he can follow a lot of simple commands and is able to answer through gestures whenever we ask questions. So his receptive language skills is developing fine. I can't wait until he develops further his expressive language. I can already picture how chatty and boisterous he could be. We may even have a telephone operator in no time that can pass as an agent rendering call center services. So to our friends and relatives, don't be surprised by then if a toddler will take your call and might interview you.
