Working on a Holiday.

If you've passed by my main online niche, you would have known by now the reasons why my blogs have been silent for the past few days: an overwhelming Christmas preparation, a sickie son and occasional procrastination moments brought about by the Holiday festive bug. I would have remained idle until the Holiday is over but my piling online works can't simply be disregarded. That's the downside of my work as a freelance online writer and just like those who hold Jobs in IT, there's no such thing as a holiday break. The only advantage I have on my side is that, I still can work at my own pace albeit I have a deadline to meet. But I'm not complaining. After all, my online earnings have helped us a lot in augmenting the husband's income and has even financed a lot of our household expenses and whims. So here's hoping for more online works even if it means that I have to work on a holiday such as now.

Official Chosen Fate

I've never been too much accustomed to doctors, hospitals, clinics, drugstores and medical supplies than now that I'm a Mom. Although I experienced undergoing wisdom tooth extraction and cyst incision in the past, the familiarization all started the moment we visited my OB-gyne for my first ever pre-natal checkup. Endless monthly checkups, the big delivery day, well baby monthly checkups, baby supplies shopping in the drugstores..and so on and so forth. And I don't think these will stop any sooner because my son is still toddler and who knows, a sibling may spring forth any time. But it's okay actually. After all, it's my official chosen fate as the blog title says.

Besides, online medical supply retailers like JazzMedical.com makes Moms' lives a lot easier. With just a click on the web, baby stuffs like diapers may readily be delivered right at the home's doorsteps. I wonder when we'll have a local supplier that facilitates just like Jazz Medical does.

Preschooling Plans.

Just earlier this noon, my twitter friends were discussing about their plans for their first time preschoolers next year. They were having thoughts whether to go for a traditional, progressive schools and one even thinks homeschooling as an option. It's not that many thinks homeschooling is not a good choice but here in our country, it hasn't gained full welcome among preschoolers' parents still. But I think homeschooling founders, parents and supporters are creating intensive awareness now through online campaigns and other means.

I haven't fully gone drawing definite plans for my son's preschooling because he's way too young. I mean I don't intend to send him to school not until he turns 3 1/2. But this doesn't mean I have to relax and cram and decide at the last minute. So as early as now, I'm researching about these three types of schooling. I have enough resources already for the traditional and progressive schools. In addition to that, my Mother-in-Law owns a traditional preschool to which my son occasionally joins in some of the activities so I have an idea what its curriculum concentrates upon.

With that said, my research is more about homeschooling. The benefits and advantages appears promising: flexible schedule, individual or one-on-one attention, extended family activity, no peer pressure and controlled religious learning. There are more underlying factors that are convincing enough. Parents need not fret because as their kids' teachers a curriculum online is made available for them as their guide. However, it takes great interest and ability to make homeschooling work. These advantages are truly great but I'll take time to study more thoroughly these options. Meanwhile, I can go teaching my toddler the basics like doodling, art, nursery rhymes singing, reading picture books and a whole lot more.

Cars Little Fanatic.

I'm looking at the site of CarId.com right now and perhaps, it isn't too early if I start familiarizing myself with all these vehicle parts, car makes and all other automobile related jargons. So that, by the time that my son is old enough to bug me, I can relate to what he's saying.

By the way, I find this site very useful to those who are looking for car parts, jeep accessories and other auto accessories. These can be ordered through their site with much ease and no hassle at all. First, they have a wide range of auto accessories for every car make and model. They have warehouses strategically located across the state so shipping doesn't take forever. Third, their site is so easy to navigate and isn't confusing. The item you're looking for can easily be located by searching either Shop by Vehicle, Shop by Product, and Shop by Brand feature. Pictures and comprehensive reviews are provided as well for each product. This way, you're not only guaranteed of easy shopping but with the great quality and craft of the product as well. So for your next upgrade and replacement, I really suggest that you check out this site.

As for the little one, let's see where his early fascination over cars will lead him.

Animal Lover

As Asher developed a longer attention span by this stage, he can now spend ample minutes tinkering his toys by himself and watch the TV sitting and in a focused manner. Barney stays as his top favorite but recently, he is fond of watching the Animal Planet channel. He loves animals and it has been evident since he was little. He loves looking at animals in his books as well as riding on my back as if he's horseback riding. Animal sounds were the first few sounds and words he learned:

Monkey - he says "u-u-a-a" with a high pitch tone
Lizard - "tsk tsk"
Dog - "Aw!" with a big, hoarse voice
Cat - "Awww" soft and little voice
Cow - "Moooo!"
Lion, Tiger and Dinosaur - "Awwwwwrrrr!!!"
Chicken - "U-uu-uu"
Snake - "Ssssss..."
Goat - "Meeeehhhh..."
Pig - he grunts and make his special "pig" sound

It seems like I'll have a scientist, a zoologist, a veterinary or perhaps a doctor of another field prescribing medications or even the best weight loss products. Probably, he can also be like the anchors and hosts on Animal Planet TV shows making documentaries about animals. It's just fascinating that as early as now and as young as they are, they already exhibit interest in stuffs they truly like.

Christmas Program Participant.

As I'm writing this post, I can hear the song "Katawan" blaring loudly on the speakers while the pre-school kids practice in the garden (which also functions as a school ground) for their Christmas program dance presentation next week. It's not surprising to see Asher dancing and even imitating their steps because every time they practice, he's always in attendance, too. His Lola even instructed us to look for a vest or a cowboy style suit so he can join the group in the Christmas program. Of course, no one can object the school directress' prerogative.

I think Asher has indeed inherited his Daddy's dancing skills. He got so many moves. He even has a belly dancing "booty shake" step and even other dance steps that make great fat burners. I joked the husband that he should learn his son's steps so his bulging tummy will get trimmed down and toned.

I'll definitely share Asher's dancing video after the program. Hope he performs really well.

Shifting to Purified.

To the mommies out there, up to what age you had your babies/toddlers drink commercially available distilled water or if you're still giving him such, when do you plan to switch to purified ones or the regular filtered water through a 4396508? Just want to hear your thoughts.

I forgot to ask Asher's pediatrician in his last checkup. I'm just wondering if it's really already safe to do so by the time he turns 2. I'm quite adamant because his tummy has been a bit sensitive when he was a little younger. Besides, even though we have our drinking water serviced by reputable water station refillers, I am also concerned on how safe and clean our dispenser is and I'm not sure if his tummy can handle it. So even though his Wilkins take part in our weekly budget for now, we don't mind the expense but as long as it's for Asher's safety, we're fine with it. Simply put we don't scrimp on our son's needs.

Frustrations.

I just read Litzie's sentiments over her son's throwing habits to which I can just so relate. Asher has also developed the habit of throwing whatever he gets hold of during sudden outbursts..whether he's too giddy or when he's angry and having tantrums. If only my celphone, the TV remote control and his toys could talk, they would have complained over the wrath they've constantly received from the little one. I know that this is just a phase that a toddler undergoes as he develops emotionally. After all, since he cannot talk and express fully his emotions, he is left with no other way but say it through actions, right? It can be very nerve-wracking and challenging sometimes though. And I know there's more to this throwing, more to his lying on the tile floor whenever he's refused to get what he wants and more "terrible two's" habits. But as challenging it may be, I know that we, his parents, are all that he needs and he can count on to manage this habit.

"Mr. Handsome" Von Zipper Sunglasses

My son's picture in which he wears his Old Navy sunglasses in my previous post is enough to convince me that I might be having a trendy lad in the near future. I'm quite surprised that at his age, he really knows how to look and feel good. He even makes the "Mr. Handsome" pose. Now I'm anxious how dashing he can get come teenage and manly years. I just browse the gallery of Zephyr Sunglasses and I just know that he will look more handsome with a Von Zipper Sunglasses, the Skitch style to be exact. Actually, there are more trendy styles available and what's even cooler is that they are reasonably priced, far cheaper than those high designer sunglasses in the market.

21 Months

Mr. Pogi

My dearest Asherito,

I can't believe that you are now 21 months old today. Just three months to go before you officially enter the big "Terrible Two" Stage although, you already exhibit manifestations as early as now.

1. In your well baby checkup yesterday, the doctor commented that you just weigh fine and your weight gain is just right. You're also through with your immunizations so the remaining ones will just be booster shots.

2. You love to run and run and run and run. I or your Yayie can barely catch up with you.

3. You surprised Mommy and Daddy the other day when you climbed all by yourself on our window sill.

4. You keep on insisting to Yayie that you climb the stairs all by yourself to which usually ends with an argument and a fussing Asher later on.

5. You recently learned to pronounce: "wow!", "ba-ney" (barney), "ti-ta tet" (tita tetet), "da-wa" (dalawa), "yuck", "ba-buh" (bubbles), "Moo" (cow's sound), "Awooo" (Mumu sound). You can also follow and repeat the syllables we say. Here's an example of a funny learning session we had:
Mommy: Da
Asher: Da
Mommy: De
Asher: De
Mommy: Di
Asher: Di
Mommy: Do
Asher: Aww Aww (imitating a dog's bark)
You still have a limited vocabulary and more often gets your message across through hand signing, pointing, imitating sounds and actions.

6. You now have a set of 16 teeth. Your canines have finally erupted.

7. You're addicted to flying airplanes and kites, the moon and the stars.

8. You love riding a car and sounds "brrroomm" (or something that sounds like that).

9. You're amused and can sit still watching Animal Planet. You even imitate the meerkats' head turning.

10. You can now make "sumbong" or tell mommy if you got a bump on the head or you fell/stumbled on the ground. You also point your booboo and doesn't stop until you get Mommy kiss it. You also ask for your Bioneem anti-itch ointment if you got a mosquito bite. You know where it's kept.

11. You say "ho! ho! ho!" when you hear someone says "Merry Christmas".

12. You say "wow!" in delight whenever you see bright and twinkling christmas lights as well as other things that you find amusing and wonderful.

13. You like to wear and model your new clothes.

You're really growing up so fast, my son. Always remember that Mom and Dad love you so much!

Xoxo,
Mommy
